A Telehealth Private Practice for Adults, centering the Global Majority/BIPOC, wanting support with Complex PTSD, Ancestral trauma and Healing, Generational Trauma and Curses, Grief, Anxiety, Shame, and Rage

I specialize working with adults who struggle with Complex Posttraumatic Stress, stemming from cultural burdens of racial trauma, legacy burdens, intergenerational trauma, the impacts of colonial trauma, sexual trauma, attachment wounding, traumatic grief, depression, anxiety, shame, and rage.

I work from an Internal Family Systems lens, weaving in ancestral healing and Earth-based medicine. Through the years of counseling both individuals and families with trauma histories, I have focused on helping people understand many of their conflicts by getting at the roots of their wounds so that they could experience witnessing themselves, self-compassion, and deeper healing.

I help folks become aware of their shame, their grief, their inner child attachment wounding and process. I also help them identify the painful cycles within their relationships. With increased awareness, you can then continue to extend curiosity, compassion and care to yourself and those around you.

The therapeutic goal is not only to help witness the pain but to also help people transform internalized burdening beliefs about themselves, and cultivate lifelong radical self love and inner peace as you unburden the pain you carry.

  • Yes, the initial consult is a 20 minute phone consultation. This is a time for you to ask questions, explain what is motivating you to therapy, and to get a feel for me as a therapist. If, for any reason, you/we decide we are not a good fit; or the reason behind you seeking treatment is beyond the scope of my practice, I can refer you to one or more of my colleagues that may better suit your needs.

  • We begin our therapeutic work with weekly sessions to assist us in building rapport to develop comfort and trust, as well as, maintain consistency of our work. Eventually, following our months/year(s) of progress together, our weekly schedule may become biweekly or monthly to tailor to your needs and preferences. I do ask that if you decide to work with me, that we initially meet weekly for the first six months to maintain consistency and traction in our work.

  • Your involvement and participation in therapy is voluntary and you can decide your duration of treatment, whether long term or short term. You can end with me whenever you are ready, with a recommended ending process of 2-4 sessions to ensure proper closure of our work together. Long-term work does have the benefit of an even stronger therapeutic relationship, increased opportunity for further personal growth, as well as, improved marriage dynamics.

  • It’s okay and completely natural to be ambivalent about therapy. That’s actually the beginning of the therapeutic process- sharing the discomfort and fears involving therapy and the therapist. It’s hard to divulge private, precious information to a person you barely know. Sometimes, people also have negative experiences with therapists and naturally generalize and develop an aversion to therapy overall. It’s essential to acknowledge those feelings and express them. I encourage you to discuss them more with me. I believe once you feel heard and validated, we can begin to develop a trusting relationship and become one step closer to building a strong therapeutic foundation.
