Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Natalie. I also go by Natalia and Nat. I’m a cisgender Puerto Rican woman of the diaspora. Nuyorican, but always Boricua.

I grew up in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NYC in Public Housing- Baruch Projects, before moving to the Bronx as a teenager, and have lived in various other parts of Turtle Island (now called the U.S.A) and abroad. Nowadays, I’m a mother of two loving spirits and they are my biggest teachers.

Professionally, I’m a published author. My book, The Pain We Carry, was officially released October 2022! I am a Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist and an Assistant Trainer at the IFS Institute. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and am a graduate of the certificate program in Trauma Studies at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis. I’m on a journey to reclaim my ancestral medicine and am deepening my own journey with the cosmos and curanderismo- a legacy gift in my lineage.

more about me

My focus is on healing ancestral legacy burdens and generational trauma. For 15 years, I’ve specialized in working with BIPOC adults who have Complex Posttraumatic Stress (also known as Complex Trauma)- which includes racial trauma, intergenerational/ancestral trauma, sexual trauma, betrayal trauma—and their impact- traumatic grief, depression, anxiety, shame, guilt, anger and rage. I help folks deepen their relationship with Self as they continue to break the shackles of colonization, enslavement, and historical trauma that has created generational curses.

Trauma has us doubting ourselves. We struggle to see ourselves, struggle being vulnerable in relationships, compete and compare, struggle with rest—I mean, this isn’t an exhaustive list at all, am I right?! Sometimes we even struggle with releasing the older versions of ourselves—even when our Souls are being called to heal, release, and re-emerge.

my work

As a Latinx cis neurodiverse woman, I have witnessed firsthand the generational trauma and internalized racism/ableism/sexism/classism/heteronormative beliefs that inflict our own communities so it’s important we talk about them, including how we collude with them. We’ve all internalized parts that carry implicit bias and isms living in structurally racist and oppressive systems, so in all the ways, let’s work toward true liberation- individually and collectively.

healing is here

my brand

She is Mother Atabey, Taino Goddess. Nurturing maternal energy. Connected to the Sacred Mother Earth. She embodies a tree, wearing her headdress that reflects the Taino petroglyphs I love deeply- the Coqui, Water, and the Sun in the center. Her roots are meant to remind us of the importance of ancestral connection and reverence. Her branches represent the present-day. My logo symbolizes the medicine in legacies. A reminder that the past and present are connected. It symbolizes the embodiment of nature and ancestors, the sacred, Soul energy. It represents our rebirth, reclaiming, and re-emergence.
