Participants explore IFS parts work tailored to Latinx experiences, addressing intergenerational trauma, colonial legacies, and sociopolitical oppressions like familismo pressures or marianismo expectations. Sessions emphasize unburdening cultural loads- such as inherited shame or silence around migration stories- while reclaiming resilience through Self-energy rooted in ancestral wisdom and communal healing.
Biweekly virtual gatherings feature guided IFS meditation, case discussions in English and Spanglish for cultural flexibility, and presentations. Therapists gain tools to help clients foster liberation, and deepen their IFS practice in more culturally responsive ways.
